Backend Engineer – AI, Legal Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Norway.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and data models utilizing TypeScript and Node.js

• Create document ingestion, processing, semantic search, vector search, and RAG-based systems leveraging large language models from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google

• Construct and manage asynchronous processing pipelines, background workers, and long-running tasks

• Enhance performance, reliability, scalability, and security across distributed, multi-tenant systems and databases

• Collaborate with engineering, legal, and product teams to deliver features for customers and contribute to architectural decisions

• Monitor, sustain, and continually enhance production systems and platform capabilities

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in backend engineering with TypeScript and Node.js

• Strong grasp of APIs, databases, distributed systems, and backend architecture

• Experience in designing and implementing solutions within existing production codebases

• Proficient in operating and supporting backend services in production settings

• A strong sense of ownership with an emphasis on reliability, maintainability, and ongoing improvement

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
