Backend Engineer, AI Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• You will be involved in the development of AI-driven systems that address genuine business challenges by integrating code, APIs, and AI tools to deliver dependable and scalable solutions.

• Create and implement AI-enhanced workflows and backend systems.

• Design solutions that integrate APIs, scripts, and AI agents.

• Collaborate with internal teams to identify issues and translate them into technical solutions.

• Rapidly prototype solutions while also refining and strengthening systems over time.

• Optimize solutions (for example, by minimizing token usage and enhancing performance).

• Troubleshoot and modify systems when unexpected issues arise.

• Document your work and articulate your thought process clearly.

• Strong programming fundamentals (Python is preferred).

• Proficient in working with APIs and creating integrations.

• Capable of developing solutions without solely depending on AI tools.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities — you can analyze and reason through challenges.

• Effective communication skills — you can convey what you built and the rationale behind it.

• A sense of curiosity and ownership — you enjoy discovering solutions rather than merely following directions.

• Experience in creating backend systems, scripts, or APIs (highly valued).

• Projects that showcase the combination of code and AI (not limited to just prompting tools).

• A solid understanding of the underlying mechanics of systems (beyond just using them).

• Experience in debugging or enhancing existing systems (beneficial but not the primary focus).

• Familiarity with AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.).

• Exposure to automation tools (like Zapier, Make, n8n).

• Experience with data pipelines, web scraping, or workflow automation.
