Backend Developer, Java – Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance microservice architectures with an emphasis on high availability, performance, and scalability.

• Establish technical standards and best practices for backend development, ensuring alignment across teams.

• Oversee the implementation of performance, security, and observability mechanisms within distributed systems.

• Conduct code reviews, pinpoint refactoring opportunities, and address complex technical challenges.

• Mentor team members, disseminate knowledge, and foster the technical growth of the team.

• Ensure high-quality deliverables by collaborating with product and other teams to achieve organizational goals.

• Diagnose and address critical incidents, coordinating remediation efforts in production environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Java, preferably Java 21, along with frameworks such as Spring Boot.

• Advanced experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, in large-scale systems.

• In-depth knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and event-driven APIs utilizing Kafka.

• Proficient use of Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.

• Established experience in CI/CD utilizing GitHub Actions, version control with Git, and effective branching strategies.

• Familiarity with application security (OAuth2), monitoring, and observability practices.

• Knowledge of AWS services, including ECS, RDS, ALB/NLB, and S3, as well as integration across cloud platforms.

• Proven capability to propose innovative solutions and offer technical leadership on critical projects.

• Experience with AI in backend development, intelligent automation of CI/CD pipelines, predictive observability, regulated environments, architectural guidelines, DevSecOps practices, and custom monitoring/alerting tools is considered a valuable differentiator.
