Backend Developer – Core Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Development of APIs and microservices — create and enhance high-performance APIs and microservices in Go, crafted for reliability, low latency, and scalability.

• Comprehensive ownership — assume complete responsibility for features and services, encompassing discovery, design, production rollout, and ongoing monitoring.

• Collaborative engagement — partner closely with product and business teams to convert genuine payment challenges into sophisticated technical solutions.

• Integration frameworks — enhance and broaden integration frameworks that operate across various countries, providers, and intricate payment systems.

• Security and compliance — uphold excellence in security, privacy, and data protection by implementing OWASP principles and best engineering practices.

• Engineering culture — play a role in fostering a culture of agile delivery, continuous enhancement, and engineering excellence alongside a senior team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Golang — expertise in developing backend services and APIs.

• Java — proficiency in a secondary backend programming language.

• Unit testing — proven experience in writing and maintaining test coverage.

• Git — demonstrated understanding of version control workflows.

• SQL and PostgreSQL — strong knowledge of relational databases and query development.

• Security — practical knowledge of OWASP principles and secure engineering methodologies.

• Communication — capability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Autonomy — ability to perform tasks independently in a dynamic and evolving roadmap.

• English fluency — proficient in both verbal and written communication.

• Payment industry — relevant experience in payments or fintech sectors.

• Payment Service Providers — familiarity with integrating PSPs and payment systems.

• Frontend — understanding of frontend languages and frameworks.
