Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance backend systems along with server-side applications.

• Create and oversee APIs, databases, and overall application architecture.

• Construct scalable, secure, and high-performance systems and services.

• Collaborate with front-end developers and cross-functional teams to integrate user-facing components.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with best practices.

• Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues related to the backend and performance bottlenecks.

• Optimize database queries and enhance application performance.

• Implement best practices for security and data protection.

• Engage in testing, deployment, and code review processes.

• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to system enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Backend Developer, Software Engineer, or in a similar capacity.

• Strong expertise in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, Go, or similar technologies.

• Experience in designing and utilizing RESTful APIs and web services.

• Solid understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.

• Knowledge of server architecture, authentication, and application security principles.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
