Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design and develop REST APIs and event-driven services.

• Collaborate with external partners and internal domains for integration.

• Ensure the security of services through access control, secrets management, input validation, and secure API design.

• Maintain and enhance existing services, including library and version updates as well as vulnerability remediation.

• Uphold quality standards through unit and integration testing alongside code reviews.

• Establish and oversee automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Methodically diagnose issues and prioritize genuine risks.

• Operate independently within a distributed, product-oriented platform team, developing services for a B2B2C wellbeing and benefits platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of overall backend development experience.

• More than 3 years of experience building production services using Node.js and strict TypeScript.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.

• Capability to secure services utilizing least-privilege IAM, secrets management, input validation and sanitization, parameterized queries, and secure API design.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL, with skills in schema design, query optimization, transactions, and concurrency behavior.

• Practical experience with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL databases, including access-pattern modeling and indexing.

• Experience in designing event-driven services, utilizing queues/topics, idempotency, retries, and dead-letter handling.

• Demonstrated skills in REST API design and implementation, including versioning, error handling, and service contracts.

• Background in unit and integration testing with active involvement in code reviews.

• Experience in maintaining automated GitHub Actions pipelines, managing dependency upgrades, and conducting vulnerability checks.

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

• Proficient in English at a B2+ level.

• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Terraform or SST, Python, GCP, NestJS, Redis, AI coding agents, and knowledge of the fintech, payments, payroll, tax, and benefits domains.
