Backend Customer Success Engineer – Kotlin Ecosystem

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Monitor and maintain insight into organizations and their progress in Kotlin adoption (e.g., not started, evaluating, experimenting, production).

• Actively engage with organizations at various stages of their Kotlin adoption journey.

• Create and suggest tailored high-level adoption strategies that fit each organization’s specific context.

• Identify and document barriers that impede progress and propose solutions to overcome them.

• Establish and oversee feedback mechanisms with development teams to ensure continuous alignment and enhancement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive practical experience with Kotlin, Java, and the JVM ecosystem.

• Demonstrated experience in migrating Java backend codebases to Kotlin.

• Familiarity with the Spring (Boot) ecosystem or similar frameworks (e.g., Quarkus, Micronaut, Ktor).

• Strong understanding of build tools and project structuring, including Maven and Gradle.

• Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Developer Advocacy, or Technical Consulting.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Capability to lead workshops, demos, talks, meetups, and other public-facing activities.

• Comfort with outbound engagement, including identifying target companies, articulating value propositions, and building relationships with engineering teams.

• Proficiency in effectively communicating with engineers, tech leads, and business stakeholders.

• Ability to design and guide Kotlin adoption strategies for backend applications.

• Experience in designing backend systems using common architectural patterns (e.g., monolith, modulith, microservices).
