Back End Engineer, Go

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, improve, and sustain backend services and APIs using Go to support tools for plan comparison, provider and drug coverage details, and local enrollment assistance.

• Design and construct REST APIs that drive features of the healthcare marketplace for both consumers and internal users across a wide range of audiences.

• Ensure consistent, well-documented API interfaces, emphasizing reliability and backward compatibility.

• Produce clean, thoroughly tested code, prioritizing performance, maintainability, and security.

• Aid in the ongoing operations and maintenance of existing digital products while collaborating on new feature development.

• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to create scalable backend solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and help maintain engineering standards within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing backend services using Go.

• Background in designing and building REST APIs in production settings.

• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases and SQL.

• Familiarity with Linux shell commands, scripting, and process control.

• Knowledge of Node.js and/or Python is advantageous.

• Understanding of AWS, ECS, and federal security and compliance requirements is beneficial.

• Experience with containerized applications such as Docker is a plus.

• Excels in a remote, collaborative Agile environment and enjoys working closely with a cross-functional team.

• Communicates effectively and transparently, whether during code reviews or cross-team planning meetings.
