Back End Developer – Node.JS, Firebase

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Assume technical leadership for backend systems in a live production environment.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Node.js and Firebase.

• Make autonomous architectural choices and propose technical enhancements.

• Create and oversee APIs, cloud functions, and serverless infrastructures.

• Guarantee the performance, reliability, and security of backend systems.

• Oversee deployments, CI/CD workflows, and version control systems.

• Collaborate with the current developer during project handover to ensure a seamless transition.

• Provide continuous feature enhancements and technical assistance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Backend Development / Backend Engineering.

• Proficient English communication skills with the ability to clearly express technical decisions.

• At least 3 years of experience with Node.js and Firebase.

• Familiarity with deploying and managing backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and serverless backend architectures.

• Proven track record of ownership over production backend systems, focusing on performance, reliability, and security optimization (Firebase Auth, IAM roles, HTTPS, JWT).

• Practical experience with Git for version control and collaborative workflows (e.g., GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).

• Experience in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Cloud Build).

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a capacity for making independent architectural choices and suggesting technical improvements.
