Azure Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to achieve security, resilience, and performance objectives.

• Oversee AKS bootstrapping, configuration of clusters/nodes/pods, and related operational support tasks.

• Create automated deployment templates enabling customers to provision AKS instances.

• Establish and maintain CI/CD and GitHub build/release pipelines for Development, Staging, and Production environments.

• Set up autoscaling (Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, Cluster Autoscaler) and incorporate Azure Container Instance (ACI) as needed.

• Enforce Pod security policies, implement node-to-node encryption, and apply NIST-aligned security controls when deploying container images.

• Integrate AKS logs (application, event, cluster, user activity, diagnostics) into Azure Event Hub or Storage and facilitate real-time monitoring.

• Manage authentication and authorization for cluster access through managed identities, service principals, certificates, and secrets.

• Deploy and oversee HTTPS Ingress controllers and manage TLS certificates for Kubernetes services.

• Utilize governance and scanning tools to oversee images, runtime, vulnerabilities, registries, and hosts.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-4 years of practical experience in container deployment on Azure AKS.

• 7+ years of experience working with microservices, particularly in event-based services, scalability, and security.

• 4+ years of Azure engineering experience in designing, developing, and deploying Azure cloud solutions.

• Proven track record in developing and implementing AKS-hosted solutions and Kubernetes build pipelines.

• 2+ years of experience in building automation/CD pipelines using Terraform and Flux in accordance with GitOps practices.

• Hands-on knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes concepts: pods, nodes, ConfigMaps, selectors, and services.

• Familiarity with deploying and configuring HPA, Cluster Autoscaler, and integrating Azure Container Instance (ACI).

• Experience in deploying Linux and/or Windows Kubernetes clusters using Azure CLI and utilizing AKS for CI/CD runtime.

• Understanding of NIST security policies and standards, FedRAMP, CSA, or ISO cloud/container standards.

• Proficient in using code versioning tools such as GitHub.

• Experience in pulling images from private Azure Container Registry (ACR) and deploying them to AKS.

• Knowledge of API standards (Swagger, REST) and database technologies such as Azure SQL Server, MongoDb, and PostgreSQL.
