This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversees the complete administration of the C5MI Azure DevOps organization, including projects, area paths, iteration paths, teams (along with their backlog and sprint configurations), security groups, permissions, integrations, and licenses.

• Maintains inherited process templates (both Agile and CMMI variants), managing custom fields, rules, picklists, work-item types, and form layouts; ensures that rules enforce the discipline of required fields.

• Manages the C5MI Golden Templates, which serve as reference work-item trees for each SDLC tier, and updates them whenever there are changes to the SDLC framework or supporting guidance.

• Establishes new project environments using the standard clone-and-tailor procedure, ensuring that each new project has the correct tier, custom-field values, area-path structure, and team configuration before the delivery teams commence work.

• Develops and maintains shared queries, charts, and dashboards for PMO, IMS, and Delivery use, focusing on aspects such as traceability coverage, gate readiness, defect aging, tier-compliance status, training currency, throughput, and similar metrics.

• Administers Azure Test Plans, including test plan structures, test suites, test configurations, parameter sets, and shared test step libraries; collaborates with QA-activity owners on the organization of test cases.

• Provides guidance to delivery and PMO leadership on the optimal ADO structure for new teams and engagements — including boards, area paths, iteration cadence, team boundaries, work-item types, Test Plan organization, and dashboard layouts.

• Translates the SDLC framework, tiering model, and customer-specific requirements into specific ADO configuration choices.

• Configures and maintains Kanban and Sprint boards for each delivery project, managing columns, swim lanes, WIP limits, card rules, and styles.

• Monitors the status and progression of work-items, identifying those in the 'Active' state beyond expected durations, work items lacking acceptance evidence, and work items closed without the necessary artifacts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field with 3-5 years of applicable experience — or 5-7 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.

• Over 3 years of hands-on administration experience with Azure DevOps (or equivalent tools such as Jira, Confluence, or GitLab), including process customization, work-item type editing, custom fields and rules, picklists, and area/iteration path management.

• Proven experience with ADO queries (WIQL), shared dashboards, and reporting; familiarity with the ADO REST API for performing bulk operations.

• Practical experience with Azure Test Plans, including the structuring of test plans and test suites, test case authoring, test execution, and integration with the work-item traceability model.

• Solid understanding of an SDLC framework (Agile, CMMI, or similar), with the capability to translate process requirements into work-item structures and rules.

• Strong attention to detail and process orientation; comfortable with enforcing standards and identifying deviations before they become issues.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to convey tooling and process expectations clearly to diverse audiences (engineers, functional teams, project managers, customers).

• Ability to mentor peers on processes and tools — adopting a patient, instructional approach rather than gatekeeping.

• Self-motivated; capable of prioritizing tasks across multiple projects and request streams simultaneously.

• Must be willing to travel up to 10% throughout the year to attend necessary in-person meetings.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government clearance.

🏝️ Benefits

• Medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage.

• 401(k) plan.

• Bonus opportunities.

• Paid holidays.

• Paid time off.
