Azure Cloud Architect – Developer SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructures and network connectivity within Azure GovCloud.

• Create cloud-native data platforms, pipelines, and analytical architectures.

• Automate cloud provisioning processes utilizing Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.

• Maintain consistent environments that comply with FedRAMP standards.

• Execute Azure Active Directory (AD), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), least-privilege policies, encryption, and security controls aligned with NIST guidelines.

• Apply DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks while leading architecture reviews and documentation efforts.

• Promote FinOps optimization and advise engineering teams on cloud best practices.

• Facilitate migration and modernization through configuration-level changes.

• Advance towards Platform as a Service (PaaS) and cloud-native solutions whenever feasible.

• Replatform applications that can utilize Azure PaaS.

• Rehost applications using Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) if they cannot leverage Azure PaaS.

• Implement the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) alongside the Azure Well-Architected Framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

• US Citizenship is required.

• Proven experience in leading teams of five or more individuals.

• Extensive expertise in Azure, Terraform or Bicep, networking, automation, and security.

• Familiarity with Ansible, PowerShell DSC, and contemporary development tools and languages.

• Capable of engaging and presenting to government officials across all levels.

• Required Certification(s): Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
