
AVP, Control Initiative Execution – Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Take ownership of and manage a portfolio of control-related projects from assessment and planning through to execution, implementation, and follow-up.
• Acquire a thorough understanding of various supervisory control areas and quickly familiarize yourself with the associated business processes, systems, stakeholders, and risks linked to each initiative.
• Analyze available data, reports, insights, documentation, and feedback to evaluate the current performance of a control area and identify opportunities to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience.
• Conduct interviews and collaborative sessions with affected staff, leaders, and partners to evaluate current execution, identify pain points, strengths, weaknesses, and viable improvement opportunities.
• Assist in defining and proposing future-state processes, workflows, or operating strategies that align better with business, control, and experience requirements.
• Convert initiative scope into precise roadmaps, milestone plans, deliverables, dependencies, ownership, and timelines, while ensuring accountability for these commitments.
• Operate within a defined delivery framework to guarantee that progress is consistently documented, tracked, escalated appropriately, and communicated to key stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on the status of initiatives, including risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and overall progress to stakeholders and leadership.
• Involve the right partners at the appropriate times to collect input, gain buy-in, maintain alignment, and facilitate effective adoption.
• Coordinate efforts across impacted groups, including Supervision business line leaders, Product, Technology, Compliance, Risk, operations partners, capacity management, and business readiness teams.
• Support initiative activities such as mapping current and future states, gathering requirements, action planning, readiness planning, issue tracking, and implementation coordination.
• Uphold strong delivery discipline through meticulous meeting notes, action items, decision logs, milestone tracking, status reporting, and the documentation of execution progress.
• Monitor commitments across all contributors and deliverable owners, driving follow-through and accountability beyond directly managed tasks.
• Utilize judgment and structure to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and shifting business needs while ensuring initiatives remain on track.
• Over 7 years of experience in financial services, with substantial expertise in Supervision, supervisory controls, compliance, risk, operations, business transformation, project management, program management, or a related field.
• Experience working within or alongside a supervision organization or control environment in a regulated industry.
• Proven experience managing initiatives or projects from planning through execution, holding responsibility for milestones, stakeholders, risks, and deliverables.
• Proficient in analyzing data, synthesizing insights, evaluating processes, and translating findings into actionable recommendations and execution plans.
• Familiarity with constructing project plans, roadmaps, or implementation plans and managing work against established timelines.
• Strong stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to coordinate across multiple impacted groups and influence progress without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering concise status updates and clear documentation.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and discipline in execution.
