This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Create and implement orchestration patterns involving multiple agents (master orchestrator and specialized worker agents) utilizing protocols like MCP and A2A.
• Oversee the full delivery cycle of agentic underwriting and claims automation, from initial prototype to production hardening.
• Collaborate with IE on designing orchestration entry points (such as Azure Function endpoints and master-agent gateways) to ensure a seamless and scalable AE/IE integration.
• Guide offshore engineers and team members in the areas of agentic patterns, prompt engineering, and reliability best practices.
• Set forth coding, evaluation, and observability standards for agentic systems within the AI & Automation Center of Excellence.
• Convert business objectives into operational agentic systems that not only compile but also achieve measurable business results.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering and/or automation engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing production-grade multi-agent or agentic systems (not merely proofs of concept that were never launched).
• A solid history of delivering AI, analytics, and/or automation products that have a quantifiable financial impact on the organization.
• Proficient in Python, with experience in API development, asynchronous patterns, and service orchestration.
• Practical experience with at least one agentic framework (such as LangGraph, Claude Cowork / Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents, AutoGen) and familiarity with at least one inter-agent protocol (MCP, A2A).
• Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable navigating ambiguous challenges and capable of breaking them into actionable increments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively across IE, AE, DS, and business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in production environments (not limited to proofs of concept) with the current AI stack: RAG, MCP / A2A or comparable agent-to-agent protocols, agentic orchestration frameworks, and the ability to identify the appropriate tools for each scenario.
• Willingness to explore and test new tools as the field progresses.
