AV Infra/Streaming Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Design, operate, and enhance the live AV pipeline (ingest → transport → packaging → CDN delivery) across various clouds and regions.

• Collaborate with teams to facilitate delivery on AWS and Tencent Cloud.

• Configure and troubleshoot major CDNs while comprehending cache management strategies.

• Develop backend services using Go and Python, ensuring low latency and efficient tooling.

• Oversee networking fundamentals and perform packet-level debugging to sustain infrastructure.

• Integrate streaming concepts and security protocols into the pipeline.

• Guarantee service reliability for 24/7 live services at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in multi-cloud DevOps / SRE, particularly hands-on with AWS and Tencent Cloud (or readiness to quickly learn Tencent for APAC delivery).

• Familiarity with GCP is a plus.

• Proficient in Terraform.

• Knowledgeable in Kubernetes.

• Experience with CI/CD processes, specifically using GitHub Actions.

• Strong understanding of observability tools (CloudWatch, structured logs, tracing).

• CDN expertise: configuring and debugging at least one major CDN (CloudFront, Tencent CDN/CSS, G-Core).

• Knowledge of cache keys, signed URLs/token authentication, origin shielding, purge strategies, and multi-CDN failover.

• Solid backend development skills in Go and Python—Go for low-latency services and gRPC, Python for tooling, integration, and monitoring.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals: UDP vs TCP, NAT/firewalls, TLS/mTLS, BGP/anycast at a conceptual level, and packet-level debugging (tcpdump, Wireshark).

• Familiarity with streaming concepts: RTP/SRT/RTMP ingest, HLS/DASH packaging, CDN delivery, latency tradeoffs, DRM (Widevine/FairPlay/PlayReady) at a high level, and basics of WebRTC/TURN.

• Security awareness: source authentication, credential rotation, IAM scoping (across AWS and Tencent), secrets management, and DRM key protection.

• Nice-to-have: experience in China/APAC delivery (Tencent, Alibaba Cloud, ICP licensing realities).

• Knowledge of GStreamer / FFmpeg internals and transcoding pipelines.

• Experience in gRPC service design and protobuf schema evolution.

• Hands-on experience with SRT, WHIP/WHEP, Low-Latency HLS, and MPEG-TS.

• Proficiency in multi-CDN orchestration/steering (NPAW, Cedexis-style logic).

• Experience in running 24/7 live services at scale.
