
Automotive Cost Engineer – Seats Components

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Create and sustain "Should Cost" analyses and technical estimations based on component specifications, technical drawings, and Bills of Material (BOM) for Seats Components.
• Recognize and suggest cost-saving initiatives and optimizations throughout the vehicle development process to achieve cost objectives.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Purchasing, and Vehicle Program teams.
• Deliver crucial cost analysis and data to facilitate negotiation efforts during RFQs, change notes, and significant vehicle milestones.
• Utilize client-specific methodologies and cost databases to generate and present detailed cost analysis reports.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Design & Release or Technical Design roles within the automotive sector.
• Experience in the design or development of Seats Components.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• A strong interest and eagerness to learn and engage in Costing activities.
• Prior experience with cost analysis, should-cost models, or technical costing is an advantage.
• Proficient in English communication skills.
