Automation Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain moderately complex automated test scripts for User Interface (UI), Application Programming Interface (API), and data/ETL validations.

• Execute moderately complex automated test cases and document the test outcomes.

• Identify, document, and monitor software defects until resolution using defect tracking tools such as JIRA.

• Create clear and concise documentation for test cases and test results utilizing Zephyr.

• Collaborate with software engineering teams to gain insights into application functionality and testing requirements.

• Update existing automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver in IntelliJ to reflect application changes and enhancements.

• Adhere to automation best practices and suggest improvements.

• Provide mentorship to associate automation quality engineers to foster skill development and understanding of automation.

• Conduct manual testing as necessary.

• Validate ETL tables and data pipelines leveraging SQL.

• Perform data reconciliation tasks.

• Test and monitor AWS batch jobs utilizing EMR, Step Functions, and Lambda.

• Verify job execution status and validate S3 output files and Redshift loads.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of overall testing experience with 1 to 2 years specifically in automation testing, or equivalent automation training.

• Proficiency in core concepts of the Java programming language.

• Strong understanding of and experience with requirements analysis.

• Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Karate, JUnit, and TestNG, along with debugging skills.

• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.

• Understanding of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber.

• Experience in validating ETL tables/data using SQL.

• Knowledge of AWS services for testing batch jobs: S3, EMR, Step Functions, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

• Experience in UI and API functional testing.

• Proficient in using JIRA and Zephyr management tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to analyze test results and identify issues.
