Automation Engineer IV – Vmware, Ansible

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of enterprise-level automation utilizing Ansible.

• Design automation solutions for VMware infrastructure, including provisioning, lifecycle management, and operations.

• Create sophisticated automation tools and integrations based on Python.

• Establish and uphold standards for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation architecture.

• Recognize risks, enhance performance, and minimize technical debt within automation systems.

• Guide engineers, perform design evaluations, and serve as a technical expert.

• Assess and implement new tools and technologies to improve automation functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the relevant field is essential.

• Extensive knowledge of Ansible, including advanced playbooks, roles, collections, and AWX/Automation Controller at scale.

• Strong proficiency in Python scripting and automation development.

• Practical experience with the VMware ecosystem: vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.

• Experience in large-scale virtualization and infrastructure automation.

• In-depth understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, coding agents) to enhance engineering workflows, along with knowledge of responsible AI practices.

• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools is a plus (Good to Have).

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous (Good to Have).

• Understanding of software-defined data center (SDDC) concepts is beneficial (Good to Have).

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a field related to the role.
