Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Identify manual, repetitive, and error-prone processes within engineering teams.

• Design and implement automation solutions to remove operational toil.

• Assist in the implementation of security and compliance automation (e.g., policy as code, guardrails, automated checks in CI/CD pipelines) to bolster security initiatives.

• Develop internal services, tools, and scripts that enhance developer productivity.

• Establish and maintain “golden path” workflows for provisioning, deployments, CI/CD, and environment setup.

• Design and optimize GitHub Actions pipelines and CI/CD automation, including GitOps workflows (ArgoCD) for Kubernetes.

• Collaborate with Platform and SRE teams on infrastructure automation projects.

• Partner with FinOps to automate cost visibility, reporting, and optimization workflows as needed.

• Assist teams in adopting standardized automation frameworks.

• Clearly document solutions to facilitate self-service adoption.

• Measure and continuously enhance the impact of automation initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in automation, DevOps, Platform, or infrastructure engineering roles.

• Proficient scripting and coding abilities (such as Bash, Node.js, Python).

• Demonstrated experience in building automation tools or internal engineering solutions.

• Practical experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD systems.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform is preferred).

• Strong cloud expertise: IAM, networking, compute, managed services (AWS is preferred).

• Practical experience with Kubernetes (EKS experience is preferred).

• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on simplification and scalability.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agents (e.g., Claude, LLM-based coding assistants) to expedite automation, prototyping, and internal tooling development.
