Authorization Associate 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Request, follow up on, acquire, and verify authorizations, referrals, and notifications using the appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes within designated timelines.

• Operate within a call center setting while achieving personal quality metrics.

• Manage patient flow and ensure timely processing of tasks.

• Stay informed about and implement practices utilized within the department, physician practice, and hospital to effectively address patient inquiries or concerns.

• Keep up-to-date with insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and BHSF Revenue Cycle operations.

• Deliver professional, empathetic, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma is mandatory.

• At least 1 year of experience in validating or obtaining authorizations from insurance payers.

• Successfully complete and pass the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, team-oriented, compassionate, with outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Familiarity with medical and insurance terminology is preferred.

• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

• Accurate typing skills are required.

• Understanding of regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, AHCA, and EMTALA.

• Knowledge of Medicare coverage structure, including compliance guidelines related to medical necessity.

• Bilingual candidates who speak English and Spanish/Creole are preferred.
