This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Confirm dental insurance benefits, coverage limitations, deductibles, exclusions, frequencies, and annual maximums.
• Conduct insurance verification and keep precise insurance and demographic details in the EHR.
• Create treatment cost estimates and effectively communicate expected financial responsibilities to patients.
• Manage both internal and external dental referrals and prior authorizations, collecting documentation and submitting necessary information.
• Monitor referrals and authorizations until completion, providing updates and follow-up to patients, providers, and dental teams.
• Organize specialty appointments, follow-up care, and documentation from external providers.
• Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, front desk teams, insurance carriers, and specialty offices.
• Keep insurance, referral, and authorization documentation well-organized.
• Prepare and share pre-authorization status reports for dental leadership and assigned providers.
• Enhance the patient experience by delivering responsive, professional, and compassionate service.
• Adhere to organizational policies, payer requirements, and HIPAA standards while promoting efficient clinic operations.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred three (3) to five (5) years of dental experience.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate and organized work practices.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and see them through to completion.
• Clear and compassionate communication with patients, families, providers, and insurance representatives.
• Comfort in navigating insurance benefits, referrals, authorizations, and financial information, or a willingness to develop expertise.
• A respectful, strengths-based approach to patient care.
• Ability to excel in a collaborative environment and act as a dependable resource.
