Audit Planning & Risk Coverage Expert, Director

📋 Description

• Focus on audit planning and risk management

• Generate innovative, thought-provoking, and essential "must-have insights" content

• Generate new insights and concepts through thought leadership, providing compelling and actionable strategies that enhance the client's ability to respond

• Conduct comprehensive analysis to uncover the root causes of a client’s challenges or overall needs and reframe perspectives to advance strategy

• Exhibit thought leadership by establishing insights positions within a team of analysts

• Present independent, provocative insights to Gartner leaders that can influence the direction of a research agenda

• Investigate, analyze, and forecast market trends and changes to equip clients and vendors with actionable insights

• Offer actionable advice to clients and prospects tailored to their specific content area through virtual or in-person interactions

• Design and deliver high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings

• Assist BTI and Sales: Offer sales support as the voice of the market to aid Insights teams in creating content and engaging clients to achieve their critical priorities for business growth

• Ensure high-quality and timely content peer reviews

• Establish credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy

• Actively engage in innovation, ideation, and research discussions, collaborating effectively with peers in the Insights community

• Identify improvements in research processes or create new processes that enhance service delivery by the team and BTI

• Serve as a mentor and coach, supporting junior team members

• Maintain a client-centric approach, actively promoting regular engagement with Gartner insights and interactions

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Required internal audit experience

• Preferred experience in IT audit

• Relevant experience in the internal audit leader (or Chief Audit Executive) role, alongside an industry perspective

• Familiarity with common technology solutions used by internal audit leaders, such as audit management software tools

• Proven ability to lead and create innovative and dynamic internal risk assessment and audit planning processes, including the use of technology

• Demonstrated experience collaborating across risk and control groups to enhance coordination and risk coverage

• Proven track record in developing audit coverage strategies for new and emerging risks

• Executive presence; capable of instantly establishing credibility with executives and various stakeholders

• Strong organizational skills; capacity to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables

• Exhibit excellence in research and writing capabilities

• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills; able to engage clients and respond effectively to inquiries

• Proficient in data analysis and synthesis; capable of applying patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges

• Strong communication skills - able to convey complex concepts clearly and simply

• Subject matter expertise; comfortable presenting at both large and small-scale speaking engagements

• Strong business and financial understanding

• In-depth knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area and the interactions within that market

• Ability to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support others' workflows in a multicultural global team

• Learning agility and adeptness in navigating highly matrixed environments

• Ability to effectively represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies at all levels

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 25% (where applicable)
