Associate – Workers' Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee all facets of workers’ compensation defense litigation, which encompasses pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, and appeals.

• Deliver strategic legal assessments and case evaluations to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.

• Prepare and present cases in front of Deputy Commissioners.

• Draft compelling motions, briefs, and settlement evaluations.

• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, recommendations, and risk assessments.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school and hold an active license in good standing in Virginia; a Washington D.C. and/or Maryland license is preferred.

• 2-5 years of direct experience in workers' compensation is preferred.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software is preferred.

• Must be a self-driven independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational abilities, and exceptional communication skills, capable of functioning as a team member in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
