Associate Underwriter – Contingency

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Prepare documentation for ratings, quotations, and binding for both new and renewal submissions.

• Monitor and manage new business and renewal pipelines to ensure timely and efficient processing, including necessary follow-ups.

• Keep track of aggregate exposure throughout the portfolio and highlight items that require the underwriter's attention.

• Accurately generate and process policy documents with meticulous attention to detail.

• Enter new and renewal business into our insurance management system, ensuring the correctness of policy data, premiums, and coverage terms.

• Assist with accounting functions, including the calculations of premiums and commissions as necessary.

• Maintain organized records and aid in bordereaux and reporting as required.

• Participate in special projects and contribute to process improvements as the team and portfolio develop.

• Deliver a client service experience that enhances the company's positive image.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

• 1-3 years of experience in insurance, with a preference for the entertainment sector.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, comfortable with formulas, data organization, and basic calculations.

• A self-motivated individual who is organized and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively when necessary.

• Strong mathematical fundamentals — able to accurately compute premiums, commissions, and allocations.

• Excellent communication skills: able to write and speak professionally with brokers and carriers and work effectively with team members.

• High attention to detail and a low tolerance for errors in documentation.
