This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assess test responses from Texas teacher candidates.
• Assimilate scoring criteria, engage in discussions, and collaborate with fellow scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Identify and discuss various forms of bias, along with effective methods to minimize personal biases during scoring.
• Adhere to the quality and productivity standards set for the scoring program, which includes passing a qualifying examination prior to scoring.
• Complete necessary training before the commencement of scoring and participate in a potential brief orientation meeting.
• Score during scheduled intermittent sessions from Monday to Friday, occurring every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the subject area.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in the subject applied for in Texas.
• Have taught the subject or closely related courses in a Texas classroom within the last three years.
• Must reside in Texas.
• Possess a bachelor's degree.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills, including the use of a keyboard and mouse.
• Capability to sit for extended durations.
• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must comply with ethical obligations under §SBEC 230.21(g), including test security and confidentiality stipulations.
• Agree not to utilize scorer training/experience for compensation in test preparation related to the assessment.
• Agree not to take the applied-for subject exam within 180 days of scoring.
• Must meet one of the following criteria: PK–12 teacher with a valid and current Texas teaching certificate for the subject; EPP faculty member of a Texas-approved program offering the subject; or EPP faculty member teaching Texas-approved certification courses for the subject.
• Must successfully pass a qualifying test before scoring.
• Starting pay rate of $17.50 per hour.
