This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Assess responses to examination questions from teacher candidates in Massachusetts.
• Understand scoring criteria, engage in discussions, and collaborate with fellow scorers during consensus scoring activities.
• Identify and address various forms of bias, along with implementing effective strategies to minimize personal biases in scoring.
• Adhere to the quality and productivity standards set for the scoring program, which includes passing a qualifying test prior to scoring.
• Complete required training before scoring commences.
• Attend a brief orientation meeting if it is scheduled prior to the scoring day.
• Participate in scoring sessions that occur intermittently every 4 to 8 weeks, based on the subject matter.
• Score during sessions typically held Monday through Friday, from around 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training periods.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• A current teaching certification in the relevant subject area is necessary.
• Must have either two (2) or more years of recent experience in a public school service role in the subject area applied for, or have served as a college/university faculty member preparing candidates for the subject.
• Alternatively, holding a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree while currently teaching courses in the subject area is acceptable.
• Basic computer proficiency, including the use of keyboard and mouse.
• Capability to sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in the workplace.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to pass a qualifying test prior to scoring.
• Starting wage of $17.50 per hour.
