Associate Principal Engineer, Workday HCM Functional Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Configure, maintain, enhance, and provide support for Workday HCM functional modules to adapt to changing business needs.

• Collect, analyze, and document business requirements, converting them into effective Workday functional solutions.

• Set up and manage Workday Business Processes, organizations, job profiles, supervisory structures, security, and related HCM components.

• Assist with Workday Compensation and Advanced Compensation configurations, annual compensation cycles, and associated business processes.

• Create and sustain Workday reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and analytics to facilitate business decision-making.

• Oversee Workday configuration changes, conduct impact assessments, and support Workday's bi-annual release processes.

• Organize and assist in system testing activities, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate Workday functional issues, executing root cause analysis and implementing durable solutions.

• Collaborate with integration teams to support comprehensive business processes and ensure smooth data flow across enterprise applications.

• Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to enhance Workday functionality and enrich user experience.

• Draft and maintain functional documentation, configuration workbooks, test scripts, user manuals, and knowledge articles.

• Ensure timely delivery of Workday solutions that are within scope and compliant with organizational standards and governance.

• Mentor junior consultants by providing functional advice, sharing knowledge, and recommending best practices.

• Stay updated with Workday releases, new features, and industry best practices to continually enhance the Workday HCM environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Total Experience: 10+ years

• Extensive experience in Workday HCM Functional Consulting, covering configuration, maintenance, and production support.

• Practical expertise in configuring and supporting Workday HCM modules, including Core HCM, Organizations, Job Profiles, Business Processes, Security, and Advanced Compensation (preferred).

• Strong background in gathering business requirements and converting them into scalable Workday functional solutions.

• Experience in configuring Workday Business Processes, security roles, organizations, supervisory structures, and related HCM settings.

• Solid understanding of Workday reporting, calculated fields, custom reports, dashboards, and analytics.

• Background in supporting Workday production environments, including issue analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution.

• Knowledge of Workday release management, feature adoption, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Strong grasp of Workday security concepts, domain security policies, and role-based security.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, HR teams, implementation partners, and internal IT teams.

• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent project management skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and deliverables.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

• Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring and guiding junior consultants.

• Workday HCM Functional Certification is preferred.

• Willingness to work during US/UK overlapping hours (preferred shift: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST).
