This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Acquire an in-depth understanding of Motive's offerings, collaborating across departments such as Product, Engineering, Sales, Security, and Finance, while gaining the confidence of leadership as a trusted advisor on complex and strategic issues.
β’ Formulate and execute Motiveβs litigation strategy, which encompasses identifying, evaluating, and pursuing claims, counterclaims, and other strategic litigation avenues that safeguard Motive and further its business goals.
β’ Oversee and mentor members of the litigation team, contributing to the development of the structure, priorities, and operational framework of the litigation function.
β’ Direct the selection of outside counsel, strategy formulation, matter staffing, and budget oversight for all litigation cases.
β’ Remain informed about industry trends to assist colleagues in anticipating future challenges.
β’ Licensed attorney in the US with over 10 years of pertinent litigation experience, including substantial time spent at a prestigious litigation firm.
β’ Proven expertise in initiating and managing complex disputes related to IP, trade secrets, marketing, the Lanham Act, and competitor issues, with a solid record of successful outcomes.
β’ Extensive trial experience, encompassing dispositive motions, witness examination, and courtroom arguments.
β’ Proficient in developing litigation strategies throughout all stages, including pre-suit assessments, temporary restraining orders (TRO), preliminary injunctions, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trials, settlements, and appeals.
β’ Experience handling litigation for publicly traded companies, including aspects related to financial reporting, audits, and governance.
β’ Skilled in managing outside counsel, litigation budgets, and cross-functional internal teams.
β’ Prepared to take initiative and perform necessary tasks as they arise.
β’ Possess humility, a low ego, and a strong commitment to empowering peers.
β’ Exhibit sound judgment, executive presence, and the capability to influence stakeholders throughout the organization.
β’ Hold an AI-first perspective, with enthusiasm for developing and utilizing AI-driven tools.
