This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Provide legal assistance for project financing and renewable energy certificates (RECs) transactions.
• Manage entity formation and registration, ensuring compliance with various state and federal filings, including FERC.
• Oversee subscriber acquisition and associated legal documentation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
• Perform due diligence on real estate matters to support successful solar project development.
• Identify and address title and survey issues affecting solar project sites.
• Collaborate with non-legal business teams throughout a solar project’s life cycle, from development to construction, finance, and energization.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations related to real estate and renewable energy development.
• Remain updated on changing legal trends and regulatory developments affecting solar projects.
• Assist in researching and providing advice on novel issues in emerging markets, including policy and business development factors.
• Work with the Business Development team to structure and finalize deals efficiently.
• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to leadership, delivering strategic insights on corporate governance, project-specific issues, and risk management strategies.
• Offer expert legal analysis and solutions to support operations across the company.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 1+ years of relevant legal experience in corporate law, including project finance and/or mergers & acquisitions; experience in the renewable energy sector is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong background in contract negotiation and corporate regulatory compliance.
• Ability to effectively balance business expectations with legal and regulatory compliance goals.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• This position is fully remote but allows for the option to work from the headquarters in Asbury Park, NJ.
