This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee all facets of peer review for a collection of manuscripts.
• This entails assessing the necessity of reviews, selecting reviewers, evaluating their feedback, and determining publication decisions.
• Maintain consistent communication with other PRE editors and editors from other journals within the APS portfolio.
• Assist in selecting and briefly summarizing noteworthy papers for emphasis.
• Stay updated with current and emerging physics research, sharing relevant information with editors across the portfolio.
• Support the post-acceptance manuscript process as needed, which includes acquiring editorial summaries and images, as well as resolving production challenges.
• Conduct editorial checks to ensure the overall quality and timeliness of published papers.
• Uphold high ethical standards and fairness throughout all editorial stages, ensuring that decisions are in line with editorial policies and practices.
• Achieve proficiency in the peer-review management system.
• Represent the journals and APS at scientific conferences.
• Proactively engage and cultivate strong relationships and trust with a diverse network of researchers.
• Contribute to journal-level projects and strategies, including content commissioning, social media engagement, organizing outreach events, and data analytics.
• Actively participate in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the journals.
• A PhD and postdoctoral experience in one or more of the following fields: statistical physics, nonlinear physics, complex systems, biological physics, soft matter, fluids, plasma physics, or computational physics.
• At least one year of postdoctoral experience is required.
• Extensive knowledge of the science and literature pertinent to their field.
• Familiarity with established research groups in the area.
• Strong sense of integrity.

• Ability to make timely independent evaluations and decisions.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
