This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Create a vision and strategy for RTX's property tax function.

• Evaluate and approve intricate property tax returns, including Freeport Exemptions, Tax Abatements, business personal property, and real estate valuations.

• Assess complex business personal property and real estate tax evaluations and supervise tax appeal strategies.

• Analyze real estate tax appraisal reports and provide recommendations for appeals.

• Engage in property tax planning.

• Identify risks and opportunities related to property tax in business transactions.

• Cultivate personal property and real estate management.

• Oversee external consultants for property tax compliance and real estate valuations.

• Manage the budget for professional fees.

• Oversee and communicate property tax compliance requirements for S4 Hana implementation and other tax technology initiatives.

• Supervise the standardization and documentation of property tax processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax, along with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in business personal property tax compliance, audit, and commercial real estate valuation, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 10 years of experience.

• Candidates should possess a strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and have a thorough knowledge of the property tax compliance function.

• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of tax professionals in a dynamic environment.

• CMI, CPA, MAI, or similar accreditation is preferred.

• Willingness to travel as needed (5-10%).

• Experience with Property Tax Management Software (PTMS) is essential.

• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Previous leadership experience in managing a team is required.
