This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the creation, execution, and upkeep of compliance programs that adhere to NERC O&P and CIP standards.
• Perform thorough evaluations of utility operations to pinpoint compliance shortcomings and formulate corrective action strategies.
• Develop detailed documentation, reports, and audit replies that illustrate compliance with NERC standards.
• Offer specialist advice for internal audits and external evaluations, ensuring clarity and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for client personnel regarding NERC requirements, highlighting best practices in operational planning and reliability standards.
• Keep abreast of changing industry regulations, technological progress, and new challenges impacting electric grid reliability.
• Ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of data through metadata standards, classification, retention, and purging policies.
• Work collaboratively with compliance, operations, IT, and engineering teams to ensure technical architecture aligns with regulatory and business objectives.
• An associate degree is required with at least nine (9) years of post-graduation experience, or a bachelor's degree with at least seven (7) years of post-graduation experience.
• Experience should focus on North American NERC Reliability Standards (USA and/or Canada), supporting the regulatory framework and processes related to NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) or NERC Operations & Planning and Regional Entities (US and/or Canada).
• Demonstrated experience in NERC 693 compliance management within the electric utility or closely related energy sectors.
• In-depth understanding of operations and planning functions in power systems, including system modeling and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Capability to work efficiently with compliance, operations, IT, and engineering teams to ensure technical architecture meets regulatory and business requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail under strict deadlines.
• Willingness to travel, including potential international travel as necessary.
• Must be able to work onsite in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location.
