This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Develop a strategic territory plan to identify national, regional, and local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) involved in cardiovascular care within institutional care centers, facilitating both proactive and reactive scientific exchanges.

• Cultivate and expand professional relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and pharmacists, in institutional care centers to enhance research, advisory, and educational partnership opportunities; pinpoint areas of unmet medical needs; and ensure thoughtful exchanges of current medical information related to products in development and relevant therapeutic areas.

• Contribute to the planning and execution of Congress activities, which entails reviewing scientific programming for pertinent conferences, attending sessions, supporting exhibit booth operations, and creating timely written conference reports that summarize key information, activities, and competitive intelligence for colleagues.

• Act as a scientific expert at significant medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, internal meetings, and meetings with patient advocacy groups.

• Maintain a high level of scientific knowledge and comprehension regarding disease states, underlying sciences, treatment guidelines, available treatment agents and options, as well as therapies for heart failure and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy that are under development.

• Stay well-informed about current trends in clinical research, competitive developments, patient care, and their implications for Cytokinetics’ medical strategies.

• Collaborate with Medical Affairs and other internal teams on initiatives such as medical information, publications, medical education, grants, speaker training, and various educational programs.

• Support clinical development programs by acting as a key contact for company-sponsored trial investigators, investigator-initiated research, and registries in alignment with company objectives and regulations.

• Work compliantly and collaboratively with field account specialists to support MYQORZO.

• Respond promptly and accurately to unsolicited requests for Medical Information.

• Mentor and assist the Senior Medical Science Liaison.

• Provide strategic insights and implement region-specific plans to meet KOL engagement objectives and Medical Affairs departmental goals.

• Independently manage projects with a high level of quality and timely execution.

• Maintain comprehensive awareness and understanding of current “real world” clinical practices, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) drivers, and emerging trends in treatments and medicine.

• Build relationships with key executive leadership colleagues across Cytokinetics and connect external parties with the appropriate members of the leadership team.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced clinical or scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, MS, PA, ARNP) is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a cardiovascular Medical Science Liaison is required for the Associate Director position.

• Experience in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and/or heart failure is desirable.

• Must demonstrate analytical and articulate communication skills in both oral and written forms, possess excellent presentation abilities, and have a proven track record of effectively communicating with external stakeholders and all levels within the organization.

• Must comprehend the roles and responsibilities of Medical Science Liaisons, including compliance with PhRMA Code Standards for Interactions with U.S. Healthcare Providers, Federal and State promotional laws and regulations, ACCME Standards, the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and all other company policies, rules, and regulations.

• Adhere to all credentialing requirements for any healthcare institution within the Medical Science call plan, including routine background checks, medical testing or proof of immunizations, training on facility policies, and compliance with confidentiality and/or HIPAA agreements.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

• A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required, with an acceptable driving record.

• Willingness to travel domestically (~30%-50%) and internationally on occasion (TBD).
