This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• The Associate Director of Medical Affairs Training is accountable for the development and implementation of training programs within Medical Affairs.
• This role will address training requests from various cross-functional collaborators.
• Responsible for enhancing the competencies of Medical Affairs professionals.
• Training will encompass onboarding, product education, skills enhancement, virtual training, and advanced training tailored to organizational needs.
• Work alongside Medical Directors to perform needs assessments to ensure that training aligns with global and regional medical strategies as well as legal, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee all medical training initiatives, including new hire orientation, virtual training, product and disease education, skills training, advanced training, and training related to new and existing initiatives and field materials such as internal journal clubs.
• Partner with cross-functional and medical leadership to provide insights and suggestions for improving training programs, structures, and resources, while proactively analyzing, evaluating, and reporting on the effectiveness of training programs, including post-training effectiveness measurements.
• Collaborate with medical teams to develop external communication materials for field teams and lead training sessions on these materials, including new publications, congress materials, and medical website content.
• An advanced degree is required (PharmD, PhD, MD), preferably within the life sciences domain.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with a proven history of success in medical affairs; management experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in training or teaching, with familiarity in adult learning principles and distance learning preferred.
• A demonstrated level of accountability and professionalism.
• Ability to exemplify and uphold company values.
• Solid understanding of the rare/orphan disease market.
• Proven capacity to effectively communicate the clinical advantages of products, including the proficient use of clinical data in external presentations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional and medical leadership.
• Strong facilitation skills, including the capability to deliver large group presentations at regional and national events.
• Robust project management skills, such as scheduling, planning, and prioritizing a variety of activities, initiatives, and projects.
• Strong coaching abilities, including the capacity to provide constructive and timely feedback.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as necessary.
