This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Oversee, choose, train, coach, and manage the performance of Clinical Team Managers, Clinical Managers, and/or Clinical Administration for a designated geographical area.
• Functionally supervise Clinical Team Managers and/or Clinical Managers to guarantee the successful delivery of clinical objectives on assigned projects.
• Direct clinical project goals at a regional or global level, adhering to cost, time, and quality standards.
• Represent Clinical Management in global and/or cross-functional initiatives.
• Supervise and coordinate Clinical Management operations while mentoring managers in their daily clinical responsibilities.
• Ensure that clinical teams are equipped with the necessary support and resources for study initiation, monitoring, and site management tasks.
• Collaborate with other functional departments at the country level to execute projects and assist in feasibility studies.
• Guarantee the timely and high-quality execution of clinical tasks.
• Develop and implement project or program strategies, annual plans, and targets.
• Lead risk assessment meetings and formulate and communicate contingency plans.
• Appropriately escalate risks, solutions, and financial issues related to clinical projects or programs.
• Manage clinical management resource levels, including recruitment and promotions.
• Participate in resource allocation calls to ensure an adequate supply of qualified personnel.
• Onboard new managers into PPD.
• Conduct performance evaluations and determine bonuses and merit increases as necessary.
• Foster and motivate staff through goal setting, feedback, assessments, and delegation of tasks.
• Ensure staff training and mentoring follow company policies and procedures.
• Develop, implement, and review essential performance metrics.
• Oversee annual and long-term budgeting and forecasting for assigned teams.
• Engage in global, cross-functional, and process improvement projects.
• Operate in an office setting, occasionally travel to site locations, and frequently travel domestically and internationally.
• Bachelor's Degree in a life science-related field.
• Prior experience in a Functional Service Provider (FSP) environment.
• Over 5 years of project management experience.
• Extensive clinical research experience equivalent to more than 10 years, covering remote and clinical monitoring, as well as all phases of the study life cycle.
• Line management experience suitable for the size and complexity of the clinical management group in the specified country/region.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Valid Passport.
• Exceptional oral/presentation and written communication skills in both the native language and English.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal management.
• Understanding of clinical development regulatory guidelines and directives.
• Ability to function effectively within a matrix organization.
