
Associate Director, Art Direction – Performance Marketing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Drive the visual advancement of brands. You will manage the art direction for presentations and flagship projects, ensuring that all work adheres to a world-class standard in design, typography, and composition.
• Mentor a team of junior to mid-level Art Directors and Designers. You will offer targeted, craft-oriented feedback that enhances their work while assisting them in developing their own unique visual styles.
• Assume responsibility for the visual storytelling across multi-channel campaigns. You will steer the aesthetic aspect of 'the big idea,' ensuring a unified look and feel across film, digital, social, and physical experiences.
• Oversee the visual elements of production, from selecting photographers and directors to managing color grading, retouching, and motion design, ensuring the final output aligns with the original creative vision.
• Serve as the visual expert in client meetings. You will present design systems and art direction with enthusiasm and clarity, helping clients grasp the strategic 'why' behind visual decisions.
• Collaborate with Creative leadership to refine design workflows, set quality benchmarks, and explore new tools or AI-driven technologies to keep the team's craft innovative and forward-thinking.
• Cultivate an inclusive, design-driven culture that promotes experimentation, shared learning, and an unwavering commitment to visual excellence.
• Over 5 years of experience in art direction or design within a creative agency, high-growth brand environment, or a comparable field.
• Demonstrated mastery in art direction, layout, typography, and integrated visual storytelling across multiple platforms.
• Proficiency in performance marketing.
• Experience in leading small teams or managing the work of freelancers and junior creatives.
• Advanced knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), motion design, or AI image generation.
• Capability to ensure that every visual decision, from color palette to casting, aligns with the client’s business objectives and brand identity.
• Skill in conveying complex visual concepts to non-visual stakeholders and clients.
