Associate Director – AR & Denial Prevention

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the strategic management and operational implementation of all accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, denial prevention, appeals, and various receivables at Boomerang Healthcare (BHC).

• Ensure proactive, compliant, and prompt revenue recovery while reducing aging accounts receivable and minimizing denial rates.

• Supervise both internal AR teams and external vendors.

• Collaborate with the leadership of Billing Operations, Revenue Integrity, Compliance, and Finance.

• Direct all AR follow-up activities across: Commercial, Medicare, Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Self-pay.

• Establish and track KPI dashboards and other performance indicators.

• Create AR work queue stratification models and present monthly AR performance reviews to executive leadership.

• Manage the denial management team and implement a structured process for analyzing denial root causes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.

• 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

• 3+ years of experience managing AR in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

• Strong background in pain management, workers' compensation, or procedural-based specialties.

• Proven success in leading billing insourcing or large-scale RCM transformations.

• In-depth knowledge of CPT billing.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

• Familiarity with multiple EHR/Practice Management systems (IMS, Nextgen, Athena, eClinicalWorks, or similar).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) and solid capabilities in other Microsoft Office applications.
