Associate Director – AI & Data, Energy Providers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• We are looking for a skilled Associate Director to join our expanding AI and Data practice, specifically focusing on commercial energy providers.

• This role requires a proactive leader who will drive business growth through sales initiatives and oversee the implementation of AI and data-driven transformations.

• The Associate Director will manage cross-functional teams and work directly with client executives and business leaders to create value through AI & data strategy and the execution of AI-based solutions.

• Identify client needs to generate new business opportunities, shape proposals, and foster relationships into strategic partnerships.

• Lead client projects from strategic planning to implementation, ensuring excellence in delivery and measurable business results.

• Build and sustain relationships with key clients and stakeholders to enhance accounts and influence purchasing decisions.

• Spearhead comprehensive solution development leveraging AI and advanced analytics, focusing on AI and data strategy, governance, and innovation to achieve scalable, client-focused outcomes.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to guide solution development and competitively position offerings in the marketplace.

• Manage business development activities, including pipeline generation, proposal creation, and strategic pursuits to achieve growth objectives.

• Mentor and lead multi-disciplinary consulting teams comprising data scientists, engineers, and business consultants.

• Contribute to recruitment, talent development, and thought leadership within the practice.

• Utilize extensive knowledge of the energy and utilities industry to develop strategies related to DER integration, energy transition, grid modernization, regulatory compliance, and customer experience.

• Analyze regulatory and policy changes to pinpoint opportunities for AI and data enablement and generate new revenue streams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field.

• At least SEVEN (7) years of experience in AI, data strategy, and analytics consulting, with a proven history in business development—including client relationship management, opportunity identification, and contributions to revenue growth.

• A minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience leading data-driven transformation initiatives in the utilities or broader energy sector, focusing on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and change management.

• Proficiency in using AI/ML technologies, modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/GCP/Azure), and advanced analytics methodologies, with the capability to translate technical capabilities into strategic value propositions during client interactions.

• Experience throughout the business development lifecycle—including opportunity identification, capture strategy, and proposal development—while ensuring alignment with technical delivery.

• Proven experience leading large-scale AI and analytics projects from inception through execution while simultaneously expanding client relationships and uncovering new revenue opportunities.

• Background in sourcing, structuring, and executing strategic partnerships between technology providers and business stakeholders to enhance both delivery and market expansion.
