Associate Counsel, California

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.

• Providing assessments on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.

• Preparing and managing pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and representing in trial or dispositive hearings for all assigned matters, as applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance/defense and/or personal injury is REQUIRED.

• Juris Doctor degree is REQUIRED.

• Admission to the California Bar is REQUIRED.

• Must hold an active license in good standing to practice law in California and comply with all licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) where applicable.

• Must be willing to travel as necessary, which may include attending trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

• Must be capable of documenting files in a clear, concise, and professional manner, ensuring comprehension by customers, clients, co-workers, and other employees within the organization.

• Must be adept at following complex instructions, resolving conflicts or facilitating conflict resolution, and possess strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.

• Must have the ability to learn and apply substantial amounts of technical and procedural information.
