This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
β’ Providing assessments on liability, damages, and value as required by the Claims Department.
β’ Preparing and managing pleadings, motions, and discovery processes, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, while defending all assigned matters through trial or dispositive hearing, as applicable.
β’ 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury.
β’ Juris Doctor degree is REQUIRED.
β’ Admission to the New York Bar is REQUIRED.
β’ Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York and fulfill ongoing licensing obligations, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) where applicable.
β’ Willingness to travel as necessary, including but not limited to attending trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
β’ Ability to document files clearly, concisely, and professionally, ensuring comprehension by customers, clients, co-workers, and other organizational employees.
β’ Capability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and possess strong organizational, priority-setting, and multi-tasking skills.
β’ Proficient in professional communication, whether in person, over the phone, or through written correspondence/email.
