This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Assist in commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and validation processes for conveyor and automated material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot automation systems, including PLCs, VFDs, sensors, field devices, and industrial networks.
• Conduct System and I/O Checkout activities utilizing Studio 5000 and associated commissioning tools.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineers and senior commissioning team members to support Controls and PLC checkout activities.
• Configure, validate, and resolve issues with PLCs, VFDs, I/O devices, and network components.
• Evaluate and confirm system performance, including conveyor speeds, operational sequences, and device functionality.
• Ensure engineered systems align with customer specifications, design intent, and operational requirements.
• Review field installations to verify that electrical systems and wiring conform to engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Address electrical, controls, electromechanical, and communication-related issues on-site.
• Professionally engage with customers, subcontractors, electricians, technicians, and internal project teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Assist commissioning leads in coordinating contractors or technicians during checkout and startup procedures.
• Contribute to AutoCAD updates, subpanel layouts, and electrical drawing reviews as necessary.
• Create and maintain project workbooks, commissioning documentation, punch lists, and issue tracking logs.
• Review electrical drawings for accuracy, completeness, UL requirements, and readiness for installation prior to startup.
• Clearly communicate technical findings, project updates, and support requirements to remote team members and project leadership.
• Exhibit initiative, adaptability, teamwork, and eagerness to learn in dynamic field environments.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial automation, commissioning, maintenance, controls, or field service environments.
• 1-2 years of experience in automation, control system design, and I/O Checkout.
• Strong understanding of electrical and controls engineering theories and principles.
• Significant electrical aptitude with knowledge of accepted practices, techniques, and codes.
• Experience with VFDs from Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with PLCs from Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix & CompactLogix), Modicon, and Siemens (S7) is an asset but not required.
• Preferred experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Studio 5000.
• HMI experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Ignition, and WinCC is a bonus but not essential.
