Associate Attorney, Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act on behalf of mortgage lenders and investor clients in both commercial and residential foreclosure, title disputes, and real estate litigation.

• Make appearances in state and federal courts for both routine and contested hearings.

• Evaluate incoming litigation and formulate case strategies.

• Prepare legal documents and engage in settlement negotiations.

• Oversee a caseload of contested matters representing residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.

• Appear in court to argue motions essential for the successful resolution of routine and contested foreclosures, evictions, title disputes, HOA/COA disputes, and other related issues.

• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and facilitate case resolution.

• Review loan files, title reports, and other client documentation.

• Draft motions and prepare written discovery requests and responses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, licensed in Illinois, and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.

• At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in motion practice.

• At least 2 years of courtroom experience.

• Familiarity with Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Law.

• Understanding of the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules.

• Previous experience in foreclosure litigation involving both residential and commercial properties.
