
Assistant Vice President – Underwriting, Energy Investment & Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Conduct due diligence and underwriting for complex energy development or project investments, while overseeing development partners and reviewing legal documents and consultant reports, including environmental studies, market evaluations, and independent engineer assessments.
• Present analyses and approval requests to senior leadership, employing a clear and consistent strategy to mitigate project risks.
• Lead comprehensive financial modeling and valuation analysis using techniques such as discounted cash flow (DCF), internal rate of return (IRR), and comparable company analysis; perform sensitivity analyses to evaluate the financial implications of varying project assumptions and risks.
• Assist in negotiating and structuring term sheets and transaction documents.
• Research market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies within the renewable energy and clean tech sectors.
• Aid in identifying new investment opportunities and foster relationship-building with developers, sponsors, and key industry stakeholders.
• Monitor energy project pipelines, auction results, and merger and acquisition (M&A) activities in targeted markets.
• Safeguard and enhance the value of portfolio investments by engaging project counterparties, tracking key performance indicators, assessing project modifications/restructurings, and executing asset sales.
• Mentor and train junior investment professionals within a matrixed organization.
• Support GE Vernova's strategic initiatives, special projects, and new business development opportunities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field is essential.
• A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in energy project development, project finance, investment banking, private equity, or renewable energy infrastructure is required.
• Strong skills in financial modeling, analysis, and valuation are necessary.
• Familiarity with project finance structures, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), debt financing, and risk allocation mechanisms, is highly desirable.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to prepare and present complex materials clearly.
• Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities at once.
• A demonstrated passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and infrastructure investing is essential.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization to work in the jurisdiction of application (India or Singapore).
• Travel may be required as necessary to support business and customers within the region.
