This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take ownership of technical accounting research and the drafting of memos related to ASC 470 (convertible notes, warrants), ASC 606, ASC 842, SBC, new product accounting, and intricate equity and financing transactions.
• Lead the comprehensive global audit management across all entities, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Design and execute the internal controls framework while driving SOX readiness initiatives.
• Supervise the quality and GAAP compliance of the month-end close, identify any gaps and exceptions, and maintain high standards within the accounting operations team.
• Manage multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation, intercompany reconciliations, and ensure compliance with transfer pricing.
• Map data flows from the warehouse into NetSuite, identify any gaps, and work collaboratively with Engineering to automate the closing process.
• Develop and automate the reconciliation framework that reconciles management and GAAP figures.
• Implement AI tools throughout the accounting function to reduce manual tasks.
• Oversee the accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash operations teams.
• Over 10 years of progressive accounting experience demonstrating readiness for a director-level role.
• Possession of an active CPA designation.
• Experience in a public company setting — familiarity with operating at scale and understanding a mature finance function.
• Proven track record of leading audits as the primary point of contact, rather than merely as a preparer.
• Practical experience in drafting technical accounting memos on complex topics.
• Experience in SOX and internal controls design.
• Ownership of systems and automation — you have built processes rather than just maintaining them.
• An automation-first mindset with a strong proficiency in AI.
• Skills in SQL or data querying — or a demonstrated eagerness to learn to independently investigate data issues without dependency on engineering.
• Experience with NetSuite (configuration, data architecture, or close automation) is strongly preferred.
• Background in travel, fintech, or the marketplace industry is advantageous.
• Experience in pre-IPO or IPO readiness is a plus.
• Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO).
• Carrot Cash travel stipend.
• Access to co-working space on demand through FlexDesk and a work-from-home stipend.
• Very generous parental leave, significantly above industry standards!
• 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for employees.
• Access to Disability and Life insurance.
• Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
• DCA/FSA and access to a 401(k) plan.
