This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the team in promoting process excellence across both oxidizing and non-oxidizing asphalt facilities spanning multiple plants.
• Offer technical process assistance throughout manufacturing and supply chain to enhance safety, efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Define, document, implement, verify, and disseminate Standards and Best Known Practices across various plants.
• Develop and maintain the AODocs library for Engineering Standards and Standard Engineering Procedures.
• Foster participation in Communities of Practice, facilitating troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, and communication among plants.
• Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings and efficiency enhancements through plant benchmarking and network resources.
• Aim to minimize process variation, downtime, scrap, and associated costs.
• Act as the primary liaison for both internal and external process and equipment specialists.
• Establish standardized instrumentation, equipment, operational, and maintenance benchmarks for plant systems.
• Collaborate with Corporate teams and plant operations to implement new technological solutions.
• Engage in HAZOP initiatives to identify safety improvements during plant visits and lead subsequent process modifications.
• Provide expertise and delegate team leads to resolve plant quality challenges and significant claims.
• Apply structured problem-solving and process-improvement methodologies.
• Prioritize team objectives utilizing plant metrics and data analytics.
• Guide plants through change management and process modifications to promote continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach technical and process teams.
• Expect to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Over 10 years of proven experience in a manufacturing setting.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting process engineering across multiple locations.
• Demonstrated supervisory or project management leadership experience.
• Familiarity with continuous web machine operation or design.
• Knowledge of the roofing process and ASTM Roofing Codes.
• Strong written, verbal, listening, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Capability to plan, execute, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Hands-on experience is essential.
• Ability to influence and drive decisions and initiatives across different functions and locations.
• Preferred experience in asphalt operations, refinery, or chemical process manufacturing.
• Advanced skills in reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints.
• Proficient in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to translate technical information into accessible formats or language for team members.
• Familiarity with manufacturing analysis tools, including statistical analysis/SPC, process capability studies, lean manufacturing, Kepner Tregoe, and/or DOE.
• Experience with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or G-Suite is required.
