Area Technical Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance and training to field crews in diagnosing issues and performing repairs.

• Support and educate crews on crane operation and rigging practices.

• Take a leadership role in projects that require specialized skills by developing and maintaining expertise in specific areas: R&R of major components.

• Perform in-situ repairs of major components.

• Handle composite repairs.

• Conduct repairs on communication systems.

• Execute specifically trained high voltage switching tasks.

• Carry out BOP maintenance tasks.

• Create, write, and train on procedures and control instructions with the help of PDS Specialists.

• Investigate parts and specialty tools.

• Travel to various sites to assist Site Managers as required.

• Execute any other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Three to five years of technical experience within the renewable energy sector.

• Capability to adhere to EDF Renewable Energy’s Safety & Quality (QC) policies, procedures, and work instructions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.

• Ability to interpret and understand schematic drawings.

• Capacity to work at heights, including climbing and descending towers of varying heights.

• Demonstrated ability to work with and offer hands-on training to fellow technicians.

• Ability to operate in extreme weather conditions, such as cold, rain, wind, etc.

• Mechanical, electrical, and controls aptitude as evidenced by previous performance of some of the responsibilities outlined above.

• Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record to operate company vehicles (field trucks) both on-site and on public roads and highways.
