
Area Sales Manager – Los Angeles, Ventura, Northern CA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Achieve or surpass assigned sales and profitability targets by maintaining and expanding sales of Castrol Industrial products and services in Northern California, Central California, and Los Angeles County, including Ventura County.
• Develop and implement a territory plan that includes segmentation, target lists, and a coverage model to drive volume, margin, and market share growth.
• Identify, qualify, and convert new opportunities; expand into new locations, facilities, and applications within the designated territory.
• Maintain a precise sales pipeline in Salesforce (including stage, value, close date, and next steps) and manage forecast meetings with the demand team.
• Safeguard and enhance gross margin through value-based pricing, mix optimization, and stringent discount governance.
• Utilize value selling and consultative skills to improve customer offerings and their perception of value.
• Cultivate and manage relationships across multiple levels of the customer organization, including senior corporate stakeholders.
• Ensure effective distributor execution (covering inventory, demand generation, and training) and hold partners accountable to collaborative business plans.
• Strategically plan and prioritize territory activities to optimize face time with customers and high-value opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and fulfillment of commitments.
• Support key functions such as finance and demand planning to meet organizational objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in business, a technical field, or engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial sales.
• Must possess technical proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other sales-related tools.
• Proficient in the use of electronic media.
• Strong skills in business partnering, consultative selling, and negotiation.
• Experience in prospecting with a Hunter mentality and the ability to manage sales pipelines effectively.
• Knowledge and understanding of sustainability practices, including energy savings and water reuse.
• Preferred expertise in metalworking products and applications and/or industrial lubrication products and applications.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time within the territory, which may include some overnight stays.
• Must be at least 18 years old; legally authorized to work in the United States; and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B, TN, etc.) now or in the future.
