Area Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Accountable for executing AFSP’s fundraising and program initiatives within the designated market area.

• Facilitate AFSP Out of the Darkness Community Walks and other sanctioned fundraising activities in the assigned market.

• Execute approved programs within the specified market area, such as survivor programs, educational initiatives, and awareness campaigns.

• Oversee the development and support of the Chapter board and committees within the market.

• Collaborate with Chapter Boards to formulate a business plan and budget for the assigned market area.

• Manage volunteers, including recruiting, training, assigning tasks, and recognizing contributions within the designated market area.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with community leaders and organizations to promote AFSP’s mission.

• Collaborate with media outlets to enhance public awareness of AFSP events and mission.

• Oversee fiscal management, including vendor relationships, cash handling, expense oversight, and coordination with the National Office on accounts payable and receivable.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in nonprofit program delivery and peer-to-peer special event fundraising.

• Proficient in general office technology, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

• Strong public speaking abilities.

• Capability to maintain a full-time schedule with regular attendance at the workplace.

• Willingness to travel as required for work meetings or events.
