Archaeological Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform archaeological surveys, monitoring, and excavations to support fieldwork for Phase I, II, and III studies.

• Comply with the project's health and safety plan and engage in both office and field training.

• Utilize electronic and traditional navigational tools (GPS, iPad/ArcCollector/Survey 123, compass, and transit) for orientation and fieldwork execution.

• Document artifacts, ecofacts, features, excavation units, land use, landscapes, unique environmental features, historic structures, archaeological sites, and ongoing work through photography, while keeping an accurate photo log.

• Maintain precise, organized, and clear field notes, maps, drawings, logs, forms, tables, databases, artifact bags, box labels, and other project-related documentation.

• Gather artifacts, ecofacts, and samples according to the research design while keeping an accurate log of field specimens.

• Execute project tasks and errands as assigned by the Archaeologist, Senior Archaeologist, and/or other project leaders.

• Organize and maintain field equipment, supplies, vehicles, and the work site.

• Acquire necessary field equipment and supplies.

• Be willing to travel for extended durations.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related discipline.

• Completion of an accredited archaeological field school and/or six months of relevant field experience.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation access.

• Capability to obtain a government security clearance.
