Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage LLM-driven internal solutions, tools, and automations from start to finish.

• Deliver AI features aimed at customers.

• Influence technical choices from design stage through to production implementation.

• Take responsibility for systems in production, including monitoring, enhancing reliability, and participating in incident responses.

• Create and uphold LLM evaluation workflows, which encompass quality and safety checks, baselines, and regression detection.

• Collaborate with R&D, product, and security teams.

• Assess new AI technologies and methodologies, and advocate for their adoption when warranted.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in software engineering with direct experience managing production systems; proficiency in Python is essential.

• Comprehensive experience in LLM application development, including context design, structured outputs, and orchestration.

• Practical experience with LLM evaluations, covering experiment design, regression detection, gating, and observability.

• Background in building and managing backend services/APIs in a production environment.

• Experience in designing multi-service architectures and ensuring reliable integrations, including stable service contracts, retries, and failure recovery.

• Familiarity with operating production databases, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and backup/restore procedures.

• Practical experience with containerized workloads.

• Capability to balance output quality, latency, and cost in production AI systems.

• Nice to have: Experience with agentic systems or RAG, including evaluation.

• Nice to have: Experience in creating lightweight user interfaces.

• Nice to have: Experience in deploying high-adoption internal developer or operations tools.

• Nice to have: Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Nice to have: AWS deployment and operational experience.

• Nice to have: Experience with runtime isolation and sandboxing for secure execution.

• Nice to have: Exposure to B2B SaaS, security, compliance, or data governance environments.
